| Mercedes Benz E63 AMG Announced |
1 Apr |
Mercedes Benz have taken the wrapping off their new top of the range E63 AMG
The powerful 6.3 litre V8 engine that is in the Mercedes E63 has been tweaked even more by Mercedes tuning division commonly known as AMG, to produce 518BHP which is 11BHP more than the current model that it will be replacing. They have also improved the efficiency as well which results in 12% less fuel been used and equates to the MPG rising to 22.4MPG nothing to shout about, but every little helps.
With a 0-62MPh time of around 4.5 and been limited to a staggering 155MPH the New Mercedes Benz E63 AMG hasn’t lost any performance of the older model.
The E63 will be borrowing the Speedshift MCT 7 speed gearbox from the SL63 which also features a wet start-up clutch. This Gear box is only available in these to Mercedes Cars at present. The wet start-up clutch helps for race starts and aides the revving of up to 7,200RPM. This gearbox allows for four different driving modes Sport, Sport Plus, Manual and Controlled Efficiency.
New front and rear axles have improved the handling and give greater stability through corners. New Front suspension struts have also improved the response, and rear air struts ensure that the rear is always kept at the same ride height regardless of the weight inside.
The Mercedes E63 gets some wider front winger over the standard E Class and the lovely 18” AMG alloys. The E63 will be in Mercedes dealerships around September
